I tried to move all my posts from my web logs to the free one, but I actually failed. I need someone as my technical advisor before I try to unify them again. This June, two family-oriented movies has been released. First, we have Garuda di Dadaku, a football theme movie. The story itself focused on Bayu, 12 year old boy, who has dream to become a football star. But his grandfather disagreed with him, always telling that a football star has no future, and will live in poverty when they retired. Bayu needs to convince his grandfather and give his best to get into Indonesian football national team U-13. Blitzmegaplex is kindly enough to provide english subtitle for the movie. Garuda di Dadaku is available in theaters starting on June 18th.

Second is King. A movie produced by the same people who have brought Denias, Senandung di Atas Awan. King tells story about, again, a child named Guntur in his long struggles and dedication to become the best badminton player like his idol Liem Swie King. A legend in Indonesian badminton history and famous for his aggresive play and the ferocity of his smash, hence he is called The King Smash. King is available in theaters starting on June 25th.

Some Other Movies

Last night I finished watching Bee Movie and Hitman. The mastermind behind Bee Movie was Jerry Seinfeld. I found the movie hilarious, there are some morale lessons to be taken. Mostly are about how we, human being, build relationships with another things in the world. Hitman was the opposite, since it was inspired by video game with the same name. Thank goodness it wasn't end like agent 007 who always fall before ladies. Oh, another movie I watch in this week is Laskar Pelangi. I think a lot of readers will feel dissapointed with how the director brought the movie to the audience, because lots of thing in the movie are different from the book. But, I agree with the message he tried to give. The other good one is we know now that the story is taken year around 1974, and Lintang has a daugther, who seems genius as himself. It was glad to know Lintang hasn't given up his dream to become the first malayan mathematician.

Of Avatar, Hancock and Planetarium

Recently, I've finished watching Avatar series, starting from chapter 314 to chapter 321 book 3. The cartoon was terrific. I love how they draw the fights, landscapes and the peoples. It's quite different to those from Japan. My favorite is still Toph, her metal-binding is totally awesome. Too bad starting from now on, I can't watch her skills again. So, this is my farewell for Avatar series.

Another movie I watched is Hancock. It was truly PR movie. So one who play role as PR practitioners, should watch this movie. Totally recommended. Oh, I almost forgot to tell that Ikimonogakari are about to release their newest single, Planetarium, on October 15th, 2008. They've released the music video. And I love it. Another development was GReeeeN, they collaborated with BACK-ON to released their newest single on October 1st under the name of BAReeeeeeeeeeN. Though I love the music, the sales wasn't good. I hope the next time they collaborate, the (japanese) audiences more like it.

One Month Later

I've started my undergraduate classes on September 1st. It's been a while since my last post. Unfortunately, this one is not about movie. I want to share a story which I believe is have the most resemblance with a fairy tale. Once upon a place, there are two people. They are a good friend since they share the same school. Hanging around together, and so on. One day, something changed. The boy expressed his love. But, unfortunately, she reject him. I guess it was his final attempt, because a few days later, he already has someone to call his own sweetheart.

Like the fairy tale in children book, this story has it's own antagonist. He became villain character because of several character attack he did to the main character and his friend. The whole thing in this story in my opinion is a beautiful story, a true romance. And like the good fairy tale, the writer (God) won't let the reader to get a single clue about the ending of this story. And I have no idea what will happen next.

One thing for sure, their story is my favorite now. And their syndication is being my top priority in my rss reader.

My Birthday

Today is my birthday, cool right? Thank you my friend, for you not forgetting my big day. Well, I spent my first hour of my 21st year in Campus, I downloading, uploading, writing email, blogging, and starting up the new aggregator sites for my friend, it's a planet site. But, I'm facing some difficulties since I'm not a programmer.

Few days ago, I was reading some interesting article. It's about question which movies would you recommended to watch for a bubble kid. I pick some of my favorites, here the lists:

La Vita e Bella (Life is Beautiful) : depends from which side you look into a problem.

Crash : never judge people from the way he/she look (never judge the book from it’s cover).

Innocent Voices : most children in countries with conflict are become the weapon.

Elephant : gun only turn human into a monster.

Turtle Can Fly : children will always need love and protection from their parents.

Since this movie is for children, then I need to find the movies that put children as the main character or at least there are young actor/actress play in that movie.<p style="text-align: right; I read in blogosphere. Last night the Army of Thailand has try to take government power from the prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Well, it's true that in the last several years, there has been some incidents in the southern region of Thailand where the majority is Muslim. And the popularity of Thaksin has decreased by the controversial sell of Shin Corporation to Temasek Holdings, Singapore. But how come the country such as Thailand could be hit by such circumstances?

Thailand is a beautiful country. Several big Hollywood movies has been filmed there. Rambo III, The Beach, and James Bond : Tomorrow Never Dies are some of them. And don't forget of the upcoming movie, which is made to commemorating Tsunami victims in Thailand. I hope the crisis won't last long, so filmmakers not afraid making movies in Thailand.

By the way, Temasek is Singapore name given by Majapahit army. The word means sea town.

Silent Hill

Recently I watched Silent Hill dvd, the movie was gave me a deep impression. Especially the role of Sharon/Alessa by Jodelle Ferland, it was truly awesome. A friend of mine has also watched the movie at cinema, but she said it was bad movie. I guess her opinion is based on the ending of the movie.

Silent Hill is originally a first-person shooting game. Developed by a group known as Team Silent, the game soon became a hit. Up until now, they are four releases of Silent Hill game. Too bad I haven't played the series even once, just because I didn't have the console for playing it. Plus, when I have a chanced to lay a hand on Sony Playstation 2, I prefer to play racing games.

The Silent Hill movie story is similar to the first Silent Hill game. With some exception of few things. It's a story of mother who trying to cure her daughter sleepwalking phobia by bring her to the town of Silent Hill, in this movie is located in West Virginia. The town itself has become a ghost town since a big fire killing most of its residences. It also said, that the underground fire still burning until today.

The movie writer based the Silent Hill story on true events of the town Centralia, Pennsylvania. The town is suffer from underground mine fire caused by trash fire in the landfill. The coal reserve in the eight-mile seam is enough to keep the fire alive for 250 years.

And don't forget the role of Jodelle Ferland as Sharon/Alessa. She reminds me of another young actress, Dakota Fanning. I love her role with Robert De Niro in Hide and Seek. As the young actor, I prefer Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense.
