A good movie is when you came out from the cinema, and you knew that yourself has changed.

Garuda di Dadaku v King

Alright, 8 months since my latest article. I tried to move all my posts from my web logs to the free one, but I actually failed. I need someone as my technical advisor before I try to unify them again. This June, two family-oriented movies has been released. First, we have Garuda di Dadaku, a football theme movie. The story itself focused on Bayu, 12 year old boy, who has dream to become a football star. But his grandfather disagreed with him, always telling that a football star has no future, and will live in poverty when they retired. Bayu needs to convince his grandfather and give his best to get into Indonesian football national team U-13. Blitzmegaplex is kindly enough to provide english subtitle for the movie. Garuda di Dadaku is available in theaters starting on June 18th.

Second is King. A movie produced by the same people who have brought Denias, Senandung di Atas Awan. King tells story about, again, a child named Guntur in his long struggles and dedication to become the best badminton player like his idol Liem Swie King. A legend in Indonesian badminton history and famous for his aggresive play and the ferocity of his smash, hence he is called The King Smash. King is available in theaters starting on June 25th.

Some Other Movies

Last night I finished watching Bee Movie and Hitman. The mastermind behind Bee Movie was Jerry Seinfeld. I found the movie hilarious, there are some morale lessons to be taken. Mostly are about how we, human being, build relationships with another things in the world. Hitman was the opposite, since it was inspired by video game with the same name. Thank goodness it wasn't end like agent 007 who always fall before ladies. Oh, another movie I watch in this week is Laskar Pelangi. I think a lot of readers will feel dissapointed with how the director brought the movie to the audience, because lots of thing in the movie are different from the book. But, I agree with the message he tried to give. The other good one is we know now that the story is taken year around 1974, and Lintang has a daugther, who seems genius as himself. It was glad to know Lintang hasn't given up his dream to become the first malayan mathematician.

Of Avatar, Hancock and Planetarium

Recently, I've finished watching Avatar series, starting from chapter 314 to chapter 321 book 3. The cartoon was terrific. I love how they draw the fights, landscapes and the peoples. It's quite different to those from Japan. My favorite is still Toph, her metal-binding is totally awesome. Too bad starting from now on, I can't watch her skills again. So, this is my farewell for Avatar series.

Another movie I watched is Hancock. It was truly PR movie. So one who play role as PR practitioners, should watch this movie. Totally recommended. Oh, I almost forgot to tell that Ikimonogakari are about to release their newest single, Planetarium, on October 15th, 2008. They've released the music video. And I love it. Another development was GReeeeN, they collaborated with BACK-ON to released their newest single on October 1st under the name of BAReeeeeeeeeeN. Though I love the music, the sales wasn't good. I hope the next time they collaborate, the (japanese) audiences more like it.

One Month Later

I've started my undergraduate classes on September 1st. Still facing difficulties in time management, so this blog kind of neglected. A lot of films need to be watched, maybe some times in the future.

Again, Open Source Movie

Tonight I saw another open source movie, titled Big Buck Bunny. It's the second time I watched similar movie, the other is Elephant Dream. Both of them is made with Blender software. The companion softwares for Blender are Gimp, Python, Inkscape, SVN, and Ubuntu respectively.

I loved to see how they create Big Buck Bunny. It reminds me of Ice Age. Too bad, the movie duration only 10 minutes. Don't leaves your computer screen until the movie is end.

Another happy story is that FSF finally accepted my disclaimer for translations I've done for them. Now, there isn't any obstacle for me to translate as many program as I want.

Winter Green

I've watched the movie twice. Although it's funny to see the antagonist chased by dogs in the end of movie, overall it was a great movie. It's sad to hear the stars from the movie had ill fated upon them. Today, I also finished watch closed note. I loved it. Closed note reminds me of my first love many years ago.

August is the month of independence, here in Indonesia. While it is also the month of a-bomb commemoration for people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I hope the world won't have to see any bombs like that.

It's Been a While

Hello my good blog.

I reckoned it's almost 2 years since I wrote my last post. Many things happened, I've graduated from GMU and I'll start my new years in UI next September. I also learned new language, Japanese. Working as freelance translator for many programs, and helping my parents with become a salesman.

I got broadband connection this time, it helps me a lot. Well, I'll write again more often this time. Farewell.
